Drying-in homes ahead of the 2020 hurricane season.
When ECRA started, we were very aware that very little had been done to help locals repair their homes and get ready for the coming hurricane seasons. Tarps were flapping, and buckets were trying to catch all the leaks! Everyone had difficult securing materials. Frustrations were high at the lack of progress. Many were worried sick about what might happen next. We meet with many community members to conduct needs assessments, helped them create material lists and then supplied them with the materials and labour to get dried in and safe.
This flagship programme was completed in 2020.
Impact
ECRA is most proud of the direct assistance it has provided through this programme to 98 local community members, amounting to $ 559,765.87 in materials and refunds for expenses.
